Spray with water, let it soak for 15 minutes, then scrape off with a drywall knife. Wear goggles and a mask to avoid dust inhalation.

Scrape away loose material, apply joint compound with a putty knife, sand smooth, and repaint. For larger cracks, use mesh tape before mudding.

Use drywall anchors (toggle bolts or molly bolts) to support the weight. For heavy drapes, install into a stud or use a ceiling-mounted rod.
