Turn off power, remove the cover, vacuum dust/debris, wipe blades with a damp cloth, and clean the grill with soapy water. Repeat every 3-6 months.

Signs include excessive noise, weak airflow, visible mold/moisture buildup, or the fan not turning on. If it’s over 10 years old or inefficient at removing humidity, consider replacing it.

DIY is possible if you’re comfortable with wiring and venting. However, if you lack electrical experience or need new ductwork, hiring an electrician or HVAC professional is safer.

Check for loose blades or screws, balance blades with a kit (weights included), or tighten the downrod canopy.
